The next major meetup of the Cape Cod Makers is now less than two weeks away. If it’s not on your calendar already, it should be! We’ll use part of the meeting to discuss the steps we’ve taken in the past month toward solidifying CCM as an organization. The majority, though, will be about the first topic we thought would be of broad interest to makers and potential makers across the cape: 3D printing! In addition to people willing to discuss their experience with the hardware and software involved, we hope to have at least one working printer there to demonstrate.
That’s where the community that’s already growing here can help: the 3D printer we were authorized to borrow for the demo turned out to be a 300-plus-pound, not-so-portable model, and Liam McGuire’s probably doesn’t have a forklift-sized dining room door, so now we’re looking for other options. If you or someone you know has a more desktop sized 3D printer, like a Makerbot or its ilk, we would be absolutely thrilled if you could attend Tuesday’s meetup with your printer in tow. Please email us if you can help!
And even if you’re not in possession of the latest in desktop fabrication technology, we’re still looking forward to seeing you Tuesday night, 7 PM, at Liam McGuire’s in Falmouth.
